He is General Manager at The Youth Impact Foundation and the 2025 WA Young Achiever of the Year for Community Leadership.

Wil Massara founded Youth Leadership Academy Australia at 15. By the time he received his Year 12 results, an empty envelope with no ATAR, the organisation was already reaching thousands of young people across the country. Today YLAA has supported over 65,000 young people across 1,500+ schools nationally. Wil went on to complete an MBA at 21, was named 2025 WA Young Achiever of the Year in Community Leadership, and was selected as one of 50 global changemakers for his approach to problem-solving and design thinking. As General Manager at The Youth Impact Foundation he leads YLAA and the Magic Moments Youth Leadership and Business Summit, co-hosts the Podclass podcast, and speaks to schools, conferences, corporate and government audiences in Australia and around the world.

Wil Massara grew up in Collie, a coal mining town in regional Western Australia, and started his first business at 11: an aviation website that by 15 had media partnerships with Qantas and Singapore Airlines. In 2018, in Year 11, he founded Youth Leadership Academy Australia with $80 for the ABN and 65 students in a football clubroom in Leederville, Perth. By the time his Year 12 results arrived, an empty envelope with no ATAR, YLAA was already reaching thousands of students nationally. Today YLAA runs ten events a year across five capital cities, in venues from ICC Sydney to Brisbane City Hall, and has reached 65,000+ young people across 1,500+ schools. Less than a year after leaving school, Wil enrolled in an MBA and graduated at 21. In 2024 YLAA joined The Youth Impact Foundation, where Wil is General Manager, leading YLAA and the Magic Moments Youth Leadership and Business Summit. Alongside building YLAA, Wil has worked with state and federal government departments, education systems and councils across Australia, consulting on youth engagement strategy and co-designing policy that reflects the people it serves. He was named 2025 WA Young Achiever of the Year in Community Leadership, received the 2025 Mission Australia Young Changemaker Award at the WA Youth Awards, and was selected as one of 50 global changemakers for the Global Changemakers Youth Summit. He co-hosts Podclass, a podcast for educators, and has appeared on Studio 10, news.com.au and mastheads across Australia and New Zealand. His work is built on a firm belief that the best outcomes in schools, workplaces and communities come from intergenerational collaboration: young people and experienced leaders working together, not in parallel.
